Creating a foundation for lifelong learning and success.
Wonderlands Pre-school was established in 1998 by the owner Barbara Martin, she is very passionate about childcare, and always considers every child's need and their families. We endeavour to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment in which each child is valued as an individual and enable them to develop at their own pace. Observations are made by staff to monitor their learning and development, and also identify learning areas the child may need extra support in. We also work with outside agencies to support any child with special educational needs.
Our aim is for children to develop an outlook towards learning which can last a lifetime. These essential life skills equip them to develop confidence to try new things, to bounce back from set-backs and to try to enjoy new challenges. We ensure a homely, caring and safe environment which enables children to be prepared for moving on to primary school and life after. We also encorage the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of all our children indoors and outdoors. We support our children to care for and respect each other and we will encourage positive attitudes within the nursery environment. We work hard to promote good liasions with the local primary schools to ensure a sensitive and smooth transition for each child as they move on from Wonderlands. Ultimately, our aim is to provide a high quality experience for each family who shares their day with us at Wonderlands, we endeavour at all times to welcome all children, families, visitors and staff at Wonderlands.
At Wonderlands we provide a rich learning environment for all children at our setting and treat each child as an individual, offering a vast range of experiences to promote the individual developmental stages, encourage childrens interests as well as integrating the 7 area's of learning approved by the EYFS ( Early years Foundation stage ) which is a national statutory framework for all children from 0-5 years old. We place high importance on the value of play as the most effective way in which young children learn. Staff plan a broad and balanced curriculum based on their observations of children's play using their interests to plan the next steps in their learning. This helps them to develop and make good progress.
